AIM INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS 2015

AIM (Association of Independent Music) hold an award ceremony every year to commend artists and musicians from Independent Record Labels across the UK and internationally. This year featured guests such as Noel Gallagher, Alice Levine, John Kennedy, Michael Eavis, FKA Twigs, Wolf Alice & many more.

The task involved creating a package containing a 12", 10" & 7" vinyl record with tracks chosen by the judges and presenters. The brief was simply to create a product displaying what DMS does best, create beautiful packaging for vinyl.

Given that this was the last year the disc manufacturer was sponsoring the event; they wanted to create something worth taking home at the end of the evening.

The bespoke sleeve is case wrapped in a grey textured paper and stamped with a copper hot foil. The inner pages were printed in Pantone Metallic 876 on 350gsm white card with a Gloss Machine Varnish finish.

The books were packed into a tote bag, designed to make them easier to carry home at the end of the evening. The hand drawn ‘vinyl burger’ was designed to encourage people use the bag again whilst also advertising the company. We felt a large company logo would be less likely to be re-used as an accessory.

All of the symbols and patterns across the design stem from numbers generated by the tracks and size of the vinyl.

1   2   4   7   8   10   12   14   20   24
